Inspired by a photo by Velvet D’Amour, used with permission of course!
All done! We got the frame/hanger attached yesterday, which I just love. We found it at Restore in Abbotsford in a pile of wood bits and bobs. The clerk just gave it to us with a “Have a nice day!” Thanks!
We had my brother cut it down a bit to size, then I took it outside on the concrete and smacked it up a bit more to “age” it (what did the neighbours think at the sight of me smashing a hunk of wood on the ground lol!).
I ended up folding back the side edges of the quilt to clean it up a bit, then left the bottom edge frayed- I ripped it a bit more so it looked like something you might find inside this house.
Details on the windowsill- plants with red glass beads. Also, I used a doily from my late gran’s stash in the window- it worked perfectly for the reflections on the glass!
The wagon wheel was super fun to do, I need more images like this to play with!
Leaf details, I didn’t count the leaves, though Norm suggested I should, but I am certain there are millions of them.
This piece is now available for sale, contact me if you’re interested! I’ll also have more coming shortly- they are going to be used for another magazine submission as well that is fast approaching- I better get busy non?

I think it’s your best piece yet. Congratulations on the beautiful piece. I hope you’ll continue to do more larger/complex pieces like it. It’s marvelous!
What a beautiful, fabulous piece. I love it!
I love it. And the hanger is the best idea ever! It is so beautiful and creative. Very, very, very well done! It’s completely amazing!

That is absolutely beautiful!!!! And I’ve discovered you’re not very far from here, becoming a follower!
Hmmmm….interesting – unable to ‘follow’ because apparently ‘this blog doesn’t exist’. How do you like that? Any tips?
It is beautiful! I aspire to do something like this … someday …!
Lovely. Your trip was really inspiring.
